The Woodcut was an annual journal that ran from 1927-30, published by The Fleuron Limited (London) and printed by the Curwin Press (London). Edited by notable art critic and writer Herbert Furst, the journal featured essays and illustrations from Britain and Europe’s leading printmakers on both the techniques and the history of their craft. Furst would travel around Europe speaking to artists and publishers obtaining access to the original blocks so that the illustrations could be reproduced in their intended form.
