Prints and Fairy Tales
1st May 2021 - 21st May 2021
David Hockney, A Black Cat Leaping, 1969
Austin/Desmond Fine Art presents 'Prints and Fairy Tales' a collaborative exhibition with Julian Page. Featured in the show are six etchings from David Hockney’s illustrations for Six Fairy Tales from the Brothers Grimm. Designed in 1969 and published by the Petersburg Press, Hockney made 39 Etchings for selected stories by the Brothers Grimm. The production of these images consumed much of Hockney’s year as he was engrossed in creating work based on stories that had intrigued him as a child. Included here are six prints from an editioned portfolio Hockney made to accompany the book.
Whilst the gallery will be open to all within regular working hours, we will be limited to six visitors at a time. Please Click Here if you would like to book your visit ahead of time.
